Writer Anantica Sahir: My most favourite season would be winter because it is the time when most festivities happen

We have six different seasons in India— spring, summer, monsoon, autumn, pre-winter and winter. While some love spring, many enjoy winter and there are others who connect with the monsoon more. Writer Anantica Sahir shares about her favourite season and why.

“My most favourite season would be winter because it is the time when most festivities happen. Celebrations start from Diwali and last up till new years,” she says.

Winters are here. But Mumbai, unfortunately, gets little or no winter at all. Nevertheless we enjoy the season to the fullest.

“To be honest, I love the feel of winters but not for too long. My threshold for bearing cold is quite low. So, I am glad Mumbai doesn’t get too cold and there is just a slight nip in the air, which is enjoyable,” she adds.

About her preferred winter holiday destination, she says, “Normally we travel during winters to Delhi or Dubai. Though Delhi winters can be quite extreme, I love layering up by wearing boots and jackets. Plus eating in winters is fun, food tastes better and0 you don’t have to worry about putting on weight under the layers.”

Actors in the entertainment industry hardly get any long holidays. So, most of them prefer short getaways.

“For me as a writer I can work from anywhere so many of our holidays have been working holidays for me. But, because of Ssudeep’s (Sahir; her husband, actor) schedule we can only manage short breaks when he is shooting but we make it a point to take long holidays between his shows. For short breaks we often go to Delhi because we get to see our family and also Dubai because there we can go shopping and I have two of my closest friends living there,” she adds.
