Amika Shail loves her Bengali roots
Popular actress Amika Shail loves her Bengali roots. The actress was spotted doing a photoshoot in a typical white and red border hand-woven cotton and silk mixed Jamdani saree. The actress is currently shooting for SAB (Sri Adhikari Brothers) untitled OTT Film Directed and Produced by Heeren Adhikari, which revolves around cybercrime.
Commenting on the occasion Amika said “I strongly believe that the strength of our community lies in its roots and value system. We Bengalis are proud of our tradition and culture. One of my sweetest childhood memories is eating the delicious food made by my mother, especially during Durga Puja. Mumbai is my second home and I just love the way the city embraces different religions and cultures. Watching Bengali movies and eating Bengali food kept me connected to Bengal. I feel blessed that my parents supported me in my big decision to relocate to Mumbai – sometimes, you just need to have faith in your dream and things happen accordingly.”
In the SAB’s movie the actress essays the character of a fitness model. It is her second outing with the production house after SAB TV’s Balveer Season 2 wherein she essayed the character of ‘Vayupari. “SAB is like a family, and working with Heeren sir is a pleasure as he is very meticulous – unarguably one of the best directors I have worked with. In this film, I feel that I am portraying myself onscreen as I am very much into fitness and exercising. Cybercrimes are not the future, but a present-day sad reality. Thousands of people across the country fall prey to cybercrime but only a few report it. I strongly believe that stories like this are essential to be told to make the audiences understand the importance of safe online behavior” said Amika as she signed off for the moment.
