The entertainment industry must have evolved and many new things are happening. But, the difference between actor and star has been discussed over the years as many people find it difficult to differentiate one from the other, while there are still some who believe that they are one. Chitra Vakil Sharma, producer and story writer of the web show Tandoor, shared her perspective.

“An actor is the person people see when they see the story, and a star is born when the story is being seen for the actor or the star. I also believe that a star is made by the audience. A great actor is the one who keeps the audience hooked to the characters they play and takes them into reel life and makes them believe that it is real and the audience makes that great actor a star with their immense love and support. The difference is not really the difference here, it is the connect that an actor has with the audience, that is what decides whether he is just an actor or a star,” she says.
