EyeGear Optics Pvt Ltd was founded in the year 2008 by Mr. Raj Pyla and his business associates. The company has so far raised ₹ 68Cr over two rounds from Asian Healthcare Fund and VenturEast. It is the parent company of two leading eyewear brands – Ben Franklin and EyeGear. Ben Franklin, a B2B2C chain of prescription eyewear products, provides its customers across age groups and socio-economic strata access to high quality, fashionable and affordable eyewear across India. EyeGear is the only end-to-end, one stop B2B optical platform for Mom & pop optical retailers to purchase inventory. It offers the largest collection of eyewear products with 2500+ styles.

The Indian eyewear industry is currently valued at USD 7.4 billion and is expected to exhibit a CAGR of 9.07 percent during 2022-2027. This surge in the demand is mainly due to the consumers getting more conscious about their health and well-being in recent days. When the pandemic forced everyone into lockdown, the only way for the people to keep their lives going was through digital means. Needless to say that it made a considerable impact on the eyes of the people. So, the post pandemic days in the year 2022 saw the people gaining more awareness towards their eyes and eye health, leading to an increased demand for prescription eyewear.
