The response to this short film festival has been stormy with around 1600 entries from Maharashtra alone. Sanjay Jadhav, Mrinal Kulkarni, Kiran Yagnopavit, Nikhil Mahajan and Sarvesh Parab were the examiners. This is probably the first time that such a large prize money is being given at the Marathi Short Films Festival held today.
Head of ‘Planet Marathi’, founder Akshay Bardapurkar says, “More than one and a half thousand contestants had participated in this competition. The spontaneous participation of the contestants in this short film festival which we organized for the first time was very significant for us. Choosing only three contestants out of so many contestants, it was very challenging even for our examiners. The subject matter of each short film was different, the layout was different, each of the actors had quality acting. So it was very difficult to make a choice. Our examiners have taken great care that no injustice should be done to any subject and out of these, these five short films have become the winners. “
